MHCR is a 501(c)(3) organization that was founded by Michelle Holmes back in 2011 with the vision of saving the lives of dogs in danger. Our mission is to save the lives of dogs that are on the euthanasia list at the City Shelter, take in those no longer wanted by their families helping San Antonio with the over population of dogs, and give them a place to stay until a loving permanent home is found. While at MHCR they receive care, love, time and attention that every pet needs from our tiredness volunteers. With this they become wonderful companions in their permanent forever homes.
Our Commitment is to serve: -The ANIMALS by striving to place them in permanent and loving homes, providing individual attention to their personal well-being, and supplying a temporary, comfortable and protected waiting place -The VOLUNTEERS by representing our mission consistently, recognizing them as the source of our strength, and allowing unique expressions of talents resulting in individual satisfaction -The COMMUNITY by educating the public of the extreme importance for sterilization of animals, assisting families in their goal to adopt an animal that fulfills their needs, and providing on-going guidance to our adopters for the life of their MHCR dog.
